More than 100 street deals worth of suspected heroin and crack cocaine have been seized from a car near Sevenoaks.

On Thursday, police pulled over a driver on Westerham Road, Riverhead, searching the vehicle following reports of suspicious activity shortly before 2pm.

Officers discovered more than 70 wraps in a door pocket, along with further quantities of Class A drugs located in the centre console of the vehicle

Cash totalling almost £600 was also seized, following a search of the driver, a 36-year-old man from Battersea. He was arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply.

Police then searched the suspect’s home address where items including two sets of electric scales were taken away for analysis.

Detective Sergeant James Arnold, of the Operation Raptor Gangs Targeting Team said: ‘We are working relentlessly to identity and tackle individuals associated with the supply of drugs into our communities and are dedicated to removing the county lines networks which cause so much harm.

"Please remember, we also continue to need your help, so always report any suspicious behaviour.

"By continuing to work together we not only ensure Kent remains a safe place to live but we are getting the message through to criminals that there is no hiding place from the law."

The suspect has been bailed pending further enquires to return to a police station on July 4.
