A man has been charged with attempted murder in connection with a suspected knife attack outside a Dartford pub two weeks ago.

Police and ambulance staff were called to the Flying Boat in Spital Street at about 4.45pm on Saturday, May 25 after a man suffered injuries consistent with being stabbed.

Joel Jueanville, 32 and of Frindsbury Road, Rochester, was arrested on June 3 in connection with the incident and has subsequently been charged with attempted murder and two counts of possession of a knife.

He was remanded in custody when he appeared before Medway Magistrate's Court earlier today and will next appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday, July 2.

A spokesperson for Kent Police has said: "Kent Police is continuing its crackdown on knife crime and associated offences, including the supply of drugs.

"Carrying a knife increases the risk of being the victim of a serious assault and officers will continue to take robust and proactive action to detect, stop and search those believed to be in possession of weapons."
