A fundraiser has been set up after a five-year-old boy lost his mother to cancer just two years after his father died.

Fiona Fruvall was just 33-years-old when she lost the battle to cancer on May 11 of this year.

The mother-of-one was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017, however went into remission a year later.

Fiona’s friend, Rachel McNaboe, told News Shopper: “Three weeks ago she went back to the doctor because she wasn’t feeling well.

“They told her that the cancer had spread to her liver and spine and was given a month to six weeks.

“She had one chemo session and died the next day.”

Fiona left behind five-year-old Ethan, who is now being looked after by his grandma and grandpa in Woolwich.

Rachel told us that Ethan’s father, Steve, very sadly died two years ago.

The friend of eight years has now set up an online fundraiser, which has reached over £1,000 in just four days - you can donate to 'Ethan's fund' here.

She said: “Fiona was a brilliant mum to Ethan he adored her she was just a wonderful person, beautiful inside and out, she had such a good heart.”

Fiona grew up in Plumstead and had lived there all her life. Before she became unwell she was working at The Bull Tavern.

Rachel said: “I’d known Fiona for about eight years and become really close. My little girl is good friends with Ethan too.
