Two Orpington teenagers have been arrested after they attempted to flee from police.

At around 8.50pm on May 13, officers from Kent Police in an unmarked vehicle attempted to stop a Renault Clio in Birchwood Road.

The patrol used blue lights and a siren to request the driver to stop, however, it drove off towards Swanley.

It turned left onto the B2173 London Road and was pursued by officers through Hockenden Lane, Sheepcote Lane, Crockenhill Road and then Sweeps Lane.

The Clio was brought to a controlled stop in Okemore Gardens.

A 19-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman from Orpington, were arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft of a vehicle. They remain in police custody while the investigation is ongoing.

Officers are appealing for witnesses who saw a red Renault Clio being driven in the Swanley area between 8pm and 9pm on May 13 and anyone with dashcam footage from the area at that time, to contact Kent Police on 01474 366 149 quoting reference number 13-1686.
