It's almost time for the return of one the hottest events in west Dorset's calendar.

With a storming line-up and bigger campsite, Jurassic Fields is set to return 'bigger and better than ever before,' organisers say.

Headliners include Dreadzone and English rock band Coasts, reforming for an exclusive appearance at this year’s festival in Bridport.

Following another successful year, the community music festival continues to go from strength to strength.

Jurassic Fields has brought west Dorset exciting live music over the past six years, from acts such as Fun Lovin Criminals, Dodgy, Dr & The Medics, Neville Staple, and The Dub Pistols.

However, organisers say this year’s line-up is set to be one of the best for the UK’s small festival league in 2019, with more than 40 acts appearing over the two-day event.

Coasts are set to get the event off to an amazing start by headlining on Friday night.

There will also be other big festival names gracing the bill on the same night, with Big Top headliner Dr Meaker.

Saturday features circuit heavyweights Dreadzone headlining the main stage. .

Meanwhile, headlining the Big Top, are CoCo and the Butterfields, an English indie-pop band who have spent much of their time on the road, touring the UK and Europe, selling out headline shows and featuring at many major festivals.

Finally headlining the Tiny Top is Sam Green.

Alongside many acts performing over the weekend is Kioko, currently touring sell-out shows with the legendary UB40.

Jurassic Fields will take place from July 12-13.

The price for weekend adult tickets starts at £35, with camping at £65. Tickets are free for children aged under 13.

Concessions and day tickets are also available.

Last year, camping was introduced at the festival for the first time and organisers have created a new area three times bigger.

This year, the campsite will be open for a longer period, between July 11-15, offering families and groups the chance to come to west Dorset for a long weekend.

A spokesman said: "Jurassic Fields has always been more invested in Bridport than just bringing live music and the festival year on year.

"Our long term objective is to ultimately provide the capital to set up a local professional music studio and rehearsal hall run by volunteers, allowing the sourcing and provision of grants to enable local musicians to further their careers.

"We also hope the festival will act as a model for other communities in supporting their local musical talent.

"We also have to take this moment to thank all of our continuing sponsors and new sponsors for without their support Jurassic Fields Festival would not be possible.

"So come on down and enjoy our community, good food, amazing music and Bridport at its best."
