A 75-year-old man has died after being struck by a car in Bromley and police are now appealing for more information about the crash.

The pensioner was hit on the morning of April 24 on Beaconsfield Road, and a red Volkswagen Fox 55 stopped at the scene.

He was taken to Kings College Hospital with a serious head injury before he died on Saturday.

The driver of the Volswagen is assisting with enquiries, and police have asked witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage to contact them.

Detective Sergeant Steve Cannings said: "This collision took place on a busy shopping parade at a time when there was heavy footfall. I am confident that there are people who witnessed the incident but didn’t realise how serious it was. I am appealing for these people to contact police.

"We are building a picture of the sequence of events that led up to this collision and no matter how insignificant it may seem, your information could be a vital piece of the puzzle."

No arrests have been made and anyone with information is asked to call police on 020 8285 1574 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
