A 27-year-old man has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent after a female detective was assaulted.
Samuel Tesefay, of Thicket Road, Penge, has been remanded in custody and will appear at Maidstone Crown Court on June 10.
The detective was attacked at Medway Police Station's front counter on Friday, May 10, at around 3pm.
A Kent Police spokesman said: "She was taken to a local hospital for treatment and is expected to make a full recovery.
"Tesefay was arrested on suspicion of assault and has since been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent."
He appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
