A man wanted in connection to a number of burglaries has absconded from prison in Buckinghamshire.

Jason Sufi, 39, escaped on February 20 and was last seen walking along the main road outside HMP Springhill before failing to return for evening roll call.

He is wanted for eight burglaries and a violent robbery, committed in areas including Bromley, Westminster and Merton.

Detective Sergeant Ross Burrell said Sufi "could be anywhere in the UK" and is not to be approached.

He added: "Since escaping from prison, Sufi has gone on a spree of committing residential burglaries in the capital and south east counties.

"Colleagues from other forces have issued appeals to find him and carried out extensive enquiries but as yet he has not been traced."

FROM TODAY: Drug dogs and police officers out in force outside Bromley railway stations

Sufi is described 5ft 6ins tall, with dark hair and of medium build and is "generally well kept".
