A suspected burglar has been charged in connection to two Maidstone burglaries after being stopped driving a suspected stolen vehicle in Swanley.
Kent Police was called following a burglary at a house in Batten Walk on April 27 where a Mercedes ML 250 was stolen using keys from inside the house.
On May 1, it is alleged the person driving the stolen vehicle stopped at a Cranbrook petrol station and left without paying for some fuel.
A further break-in was reported on April 28 where a VW Golf was taken using keys removed from inside an address at Charlton Lane, West Farleigh.
Later that day it is alleged a passenger in this stolen car placed fuel in the vehicle at a petrol station in Cranbrook and left without paying again.
On Wednesday May 1, 30-year-old Leon Holder was arrested in Swanley.
He was later charged with two burglaries, two counts of making off without payment, driving without a licence, driving without insurance and possession of Class B drugs.
Mr Holder of Fairview, Hawkhurst was remanded in custody and was to appear by video link before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday, May 3.
