A furious Bexleyheath woman is appealing to fellow mums after teenage thugs robbed her son of his AirPods on his way home from school.

Steph Brown spoke of how her son was "absolutely terrified" to travel back to school the day after a group of three youths allegedly stalked and cornered the young boy before threatening him with violence if he failed to hand over the expensive Apple earphones.

"He noticed that some kids are behind him and he began to walk quicker," she said.

"These kids started asking him some questions and then the third boy blocked his path and they formed a triangle around him.

"Then one boy said, 'We’re gonna cut to the chase, we want your AirPods'.

"My son said no so they said, 'We don’t wanna get violent'", said Mrs Brown.

Luckily, the concerned mum was working close to where the mugging happened in Woolwich Road and after being contacted by her son, rushed straight to his aid.

"When I got there, He was shaking and pure white," she said.

Since the incident, which occurred on April 24, Mrs Brown told News Shopper said she had to painstakingly visit a number of nearby homes and business for any helpful CCTV footage for police to review.

The determined mum also visited St. Columba's Catholic Boys school in Bexleyheath after her son identified what he believed to be that school's emblem on the ties of his muggers.

However, he was unable to identify any suspects after flicking through yearbook photos.

"Any child in particular who gets robbed, well your heart is going to bleed for them," said St. Columba's principal, Nigel Fisher.

"We worked with the mum and if we did identify anyone, we'd contact the safe schools police team.

"However there is no evidence as of yet that any students are involved,"

Now in a bid to hopefully recover the stolen property, Mrs Brown is asking other mums living in the area to get in touch if they notice their son using AirPods with a "distinct black stain" on the case.

"I accept that were not going to get them back but I don’t accept three boys coming up to my son and scaring the life out of him," she said.

"If my child came back with wireless ear phones I’d ask where he got them and If I found out my child had robbed another boy, I would march him down the police station myself."

Bexley Police have been contacted for comment.
