An elderly person is reportedly in hospital after a home in Farnborough was targeted by thieves.

Police say a wallet, cash and watch were all snatched during a break-in at Ladycroft Gardens in Farnborough earlier this week.

An anonymous Facebook poster wrote: "Intruder forced our front door in Farnborough village and stole money, bank card, driving licence and other valuable goods while I was in the garden/garage.

"Four officers arrived, including forensic personnel to take samples and images. Please take care you good people of Orpington."

The resident later posted an update to say an elderly relative who was present during the burglary was now in "critical condition" because of the "shock of all this".

News Shopper is trying to determine the condition of the pensioner who remains in hospital.

A spokesman for the Met Police said the property was targeted between the hours of 11.40am and 2.10pm on Monday.

He added: "Police were called at 2.19pm. Items including a wallet, cash and a watch have been reported stolen and enquiries are ongoing.
