A teenager from Bromley was arrested yesterday (April 8) after a violent assault in Tunbridge Wells.

Kent Police said Tuesday (April 9) that a 19-year-old man from Bromley had been taken into custody "following a violent assault and attempted robbery in Tunbridge Wells late last year.

Kent Police said: "It was reported that on 30 December 2018 a man walking along Mount Pleasant Road was punched repeatedly in the face amid demands to hand over his wallet. The suspect eventually left the scene empty handed.

"The same person has been linked by officers to a separate allegation of theft in St John’s Road, Tunbridge Wells on 26 January 2019."

Kent Police added that the suspect was arrested while at home yesterday and was still in custody while investigations continued.

Kent Police said: "On Monday 8 April a 19-year-old man from Bromley was arrested at his home address and remains in custody."
