A man was Tasered and arrested in Thamesmead early this morning after allegedly attacking police cars with a "plant pot" and a knife.
Officers were called to Poplar Place shortly before 6.30am following reports of a domestic incident but were confronted by the man who was reportedly holding a knife.

According to reports on social media, passersby claim they witnessed the man launch an attack on a number of police cars with one witness claiming a plant pot was thrown at one vehicle.
A Met spokeswoman said: "Officers were attending to reports of a domestic incident at approximately 6.20am in Poplar Place, Thamesmead on Monday, April 8.

"Whilst attending the scene, officers were confronted by a male carrying a bladed article.
"Two police vehicles were damaged.
"A Taser was discharged and the male taken to a south London police station.
"No officers or other persons were injured.
"The male was taken to hospital as a precaution before custody."
