People driving home this evening have been warned that there are significant delays on the A2.
This comes after an accident involving three vehicles on the A2 Eastbound between Hall Road in Northfleet and Wrotham Road in Gravesend.
Traffic is currently blocked around Dartford Heath and lanes three of four are blocked.
Emergency services are currently on scene and Highways England have described it as a "serious collision".
A Kent Police spokesman told News Shopper: "There is currently debris in lanes three and four of the carriageway and officers are in attendance alongside crews from the South East Coast Ambulance Service.
"At present no serious injuries have been reported however traffic is currently being held to ensure public safety."
Kent Police were called to the scene at 4.15pm.
