A busy main road in Abbey Wood will be shut over the Easter holidays.

Proposed works are planned in Eynsham Drive at the junction with Harrow Manorway stating on April 8.

The works are part of an ongoing joint venture between Greenwich and Bexley councils.

A road closure for the westbound lane in Eynsham Drive will be in operation, with it closed for three weeks as contractors complete works at the junction.

After this the closure will switch to the eastbound lane for a further three weeks.

This is to maintain a bus service in at least one direction while these works are in progress.

There is also proposed works by Bexley Council in Eastern Way, planned to start on April 9 on the section between Yarnton Way and Harrow Manorway.

This is to be closed to allow urgent works to be carried out on the crash barriers.

Bexley Council said: "These works can run alongside each other, firstly due to the school holiday period, and secondly with the directional closure on Eynsham Drive, the diversion routes will not conflict."
