CHAMPION fighting robots will be making their way to a leisure centre.

Robots Live will be at the Triangle in Burgess Hill on Saturday, March 30, and Sunday, March 31.

The winners of the 2016 eighth season of the show, Apollo, will be in attendance, battling it out with some of the best robots in the country.

They will be joined by the 2018, season ten, champion Eruption. It will be the 13th year that the champion robots have battled it out in Sussex.

New and old faces from previous Robot Wars seasons will join the two champion battlers to see who will

be crowned the best of the best.

Joining the competitors in the arena will be Robot Live’s own “House Robots” whose job is to destroy the competing robots in as quick a time as possible.

The first House Robot is the 5ft tall Goliath, whichweighs about 1,000kg.

By his side is BattleAxe, a robot that weight 130kg and is capable of dispatching robots with ease.

All the action is housed safely in a purpose-built arena equipped with its own array of weapons including The Pit, floor flipper and two massive hammers which are controlled by the audience.

There will be three shows over the weekend, at 6pm on Saturday, March 30, and noon and 3.30pm on Sunday, March 31.

Dave Young, captain of Team Apollo, said: “After winning one of the new seasons of Robot Wars,

we can’t wait to get in the arena again and fight in front of a live audience at Robots Live.

“Not only does it give our the fans a chance to see the action up close, it gives us another house robot to attack.”

Tickets cost £14 for children and £16 for adults, with a family ticket (two adults and two children) costing £50.

They can be purchased at www.robotslive.co.uk and in person or by phone

from the Triangle Leisure Centre.

Robot Wars ended after ten seasons in 2018.
