A 32-year-old man is in custody after police responded to a burglar alarm within two minutes of it going off last night.
Hotter Shoes in Bromley High Street was targeted, and plain clothes officers arrived on scene almost immediately after the alarm was raised.
CCTV, a police helicopter and a dog unit were then able to locate a suspect who was arrested on suspicion of burglary.
A Bromley police officer told News Shopper handbags were stolen but were recovered.

Police were alerted to the burglary through an alarm monitoring company.
The manager of Hotter Shoes did not wish to add further comment.
