Train travel chaos in south-east London and north Kent

Thameslink has already advised passengers that "major disruption" will last until the end of the day.

Disruption started this afternoon after a man was hit by a train at Dartford railway station just after 4pm.

Southeastern has now reopened the Dartford lines but there are still huge delays.

A National Rail statement read: "Following a person being hit buy a train, disruption can be expected on all routes between London and Dartford while emergency services attend to the incident as no trains can run from the Woolwich, Bexleyheath or Sidcup lines towards Dartford or Gravesend."

Thameslink services between London Bridge and Gravesend via Charlton and Slade Green are currently being cancelled.

Southeastern say there are currently no trains between Victoria and Lewisham.

Passengers have been told that their tickets will be accepted on London buses, which are currently being crowded in Lewisham.

British Transport Police said a man was "seriously injured" after being hit by a train at Dartford.

An air ambulance landed at the scene and officers are working to establish the circumstances.
