A man has been charged following a stabbing in broad daylight on Croydon High Street last Friday.

Rashid Hussain, 34, of the High Street, was charged with grevious bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.

He appeared at Croydon Magistrates Court on Monday and will be held on remand until his next appearance on March 18.

The victim was rushed to hospital having been stabbed in the chest shortly before 9am.

He remains in hospital where he is in a stable condition. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
