Frosty mornings, freezing temperatures and even a couple of dustings of snow - we've had some good wintry weather lately.

The sun's been back this week, but the seasonal conditions previously gave photographers plenty of scope for some great pictures as we made winter the theme for our camera club's January competition.

Andrew Goldsack was chosen as the winner of the £50 prize for his view looking into Old Bexley from The Warren in Bexleyheath which captured a perfectly picturesque winter scene.

Other pictures here were among our favourite entries from during the month.

The News Shopper Camera Club is a group on Facebook for people looking to get their photos published online and in print.

Now with more than 750 members, the club invites people to share their best photos from around the area, as well as talk to fellow photographers, join in projects and enter our competitions.

If you’re an enthusiastic amateur snapper, you can request to join on Facebook.

Once accepted, you’ll be able to add your pictures to the group, join in the conversation and contests and also possibly have some of your photos used here in the newspaper or on our website.

Our competition theme for February is 'streets' as we're looking to capture some interesting snapshots of everyday life around SE London and north Kent.
