A five-year-old boy is fighting for his life after being hit by a car outside Launcelot Primary School yesterday afternoon.
Officers were called to Launcelot Road shortly before 3.30pm to reports of a road traffic collision.
A Met spokesman said: "The child has been taken to a south London hospital where he is in critical condition.
"The driver of the car, a female, has not been arrested.
"Enquiries continue."
A spokeswoman for the London Ambulance Service said on Thursday: "We were called at 3.26pm today (February 14) to reports of a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian on Launcelot Road, Lewisham.
"We sent an advanced paramedic, an ambulance crew, an incident response officer and a single responder in a car to the scene.
"We treated a child at the scene for head injuries and took them as a priority to a major trauma centre."
