A closed-down Italian restaurant in Chislehurst has been taken over by a couple famed for signature Thai dishes.

Thai-born Pranee Laurillard set up Giggling Squid with her husband Andrew in 2009, and the pair now operate 30 restaurants around the country.

News Shopper:

Giggling Squid was inspired by a nickname of one of the couple’s three children.

They will open their newest branch on the high street in Chislehurst this spring, to replace the old Gusto Italian restaurant.

"We’re delighted," Pranee said before describing Chislehurst as a vibrant town.

She added: "It’s a brand new area for us and we’re excited to embrace and integrate within the local community."

The restaurant will be able to host over 100 diners and an outdoor space will be available in warmer months.
