A post office in Slade Green has been targeted by thugs "armed with axes" in a daring daylight robbery earlier this morning.
A video which has appeared on social media shows a man who is believed to be one of the suspects running into a red car outside the post office as the alarm sounds in the background before driving off and nearly crashing into a van on the street.

According to a Met Police spokeswoman, officers were called shortly before 12noon to reports of the post office in Forest Road being robbed.
Once inside, the suspects were reportedly armed with axes and threatened staff to hand over money.

She also confirmed the suspects fled in a red car with a quantity of cash.
There were no reports of injuries and no arrests have been made.
Police are continuing with their investigations.
