Woolwich High Street was partly closed off this morning with traffic left queuing following a crash in Bell Water Gate.
Traffic was congested back to Plumstead following the incident with cars reportedly being turned away on approach.
An eye-witness has said that police, paramedics and fire crews were on the scene.
A spokesman for the Met confirmed that officers were attending a collision this morning.
A London Ambulance Spokesman has said:
"We were called at 9:42am on Saturday 2nd February to reports of a road traffic collision on Bell Water Gate, just off Woolwich High Street."
"We sent two ambulance crew and an Incident Response Officer to the scene.
"We treated two patients at the scene."
