THE club raised £8,450 at a charity golf day held at Chislehurst Golf Club in July.
There was an agreement with the club captain to support his own charity - Bromley MIND - which received £2,000.
The balance went to set up a trust bank through Opportunity International UK, which deals in microfinance.
Loans are made to poor grass roots entrepreneurs through Opportunity International's partner organisations, which provide training and mentoring.
Loans are repaid and the money recycled, helping growing numbers out of the poverty trap and giving the poor a chance through working to educate their children and improve their quality of life.
Sidcup's trust group is located in Agogo in the Ashanti region of Ghana.
The club is proud to be the first Rotary Club in the UK to set up a trust bank.
