A person has been pronounced dead after being hit by a train near Chelsfield station.
Emergency services are dealing with the incident between Orpington and Sevenoaks which has caused major train delays.
A BTP spokeswoman said: "Just before 2.00pm today (24/1) British Transport Police were called to line close to Chelsfield station following reports that a person had been hit by a train.
"Officers attended the scene, alongside colleagues from the ambulance service, however a person was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
"Steps are now underway to inform their family. This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
According to Southeastern's website, all lines between the two stations have been closed while the incident is attended to, with disruptions expected to continue until 5pm.
Trains between London, Hastings, Ramsgate and Dover are being diverted via an alternative route between London Bridge and Sevenoaks and will not stop at Orpington.
Lines have since been reopened but Chelsfield Station's building remains closed
