Officers searching for guns at a Bexleyheath home instead found quantities of cocaine and cannabis following an early morning raid on Tuesday.
A man in his 30s was arrested in Parkside Avenue on suspicion of possessing drugs with intent to supply as police entered the property at approximately 4am on January 15.
A spokesman for the Met said: "On Tuesday, officers from the Met's Trident and Area Crime Command executed a Section 46 firearms warrant at a residential property on Parkside Avenue, Bexleyheath.
"No firearms were found at the property.
"A quantity of drugs was seized from the address and a man, aged in his 30s, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a class A drug (cocaine) and possession with intent to supply a class B drug (cannabis).
"He was taken into custody at a nearby police station and later released under investigation."
Police are continuing their enquiries into the matter.
