Celebrities are set to descend on Greenwich this week as the NBA comes to the O2 Arena.

An annual sporting showcase returning to London for the seventh year in a row will see the stars come out to southeast London on Thursday (January 17).

Little Mix’s Jesy Nelson and Leigh-Ann Pinnock, comedians Jack Whitehall and Michael Dappah (aka Big Shaq), boxer Chris Eubank Jr and footballers from several Premier League clubs were among last year’s attendees.

Fans of top sides will have spotted legendary former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, as well as stars from football’s biggest teams.

Alexandre Lacazette, Christian Eriksen, Eden Hazard, Kevin de Bruyne, and Wilfried Zaha were all in Greenwich last time out – to name a few.

And in previous years Luther star Idris Elba and boxer Anthony Joshua have been spotted at the O2 for the annual NBA event.

What are the NBA Global Games?

Featuring NBA teams who almost always play their games in the US, they are a series of games which are played abroad.

Previous locations have included Europe and Asia – such as France, Germany, Italy, Spain, China and Japan.

Who are playing this year?

The New York Knicks, who have the NBA Eastern Conference’s second-worst record with 10 wins and 33 losses, will be taking on the Washington Wizards.

It will be the third time in six years to the day that the Knicks have played a regular season game at the O2 in London, winning the first time round in 2013.

For the Wizards it’s their first-ever game played on British soil during the regular season, having won 18 and lost 26 this campaign.
