A man who was found lying on a road in Sidcup does not have life-threatening injuries, after he slipped off his motorbike.

Maidstone Road in Sidcup was closed this afternoon after police found the driver just after 2pm.

The London Ambulance Service attended before taking the man to hospital.

A police spokesman said: "A motorcyclist was found lying in the road. It was established that he was not involved in a collision but had slipped off his motorcycle.

"He was treated at the scene by paramedics and then taken to hospital.

"His injuries have been assessed as non life-threatening."

The road is now back open.
