A couple of coppers were left astounded after finding a large, medieval style sword in Bexley earlier this afternoon.

Officers from the Slade Green & North End local policing team discovered the strange potential weapon after searching a vehicle in a Slade Green street, taking to Twitter to highlight their seizure.

The find of the giant blade comes after a spate of stabbings which have occurred in SE London over the past few months, including the tragic deaths of Ayodeji Habeeb Azeez in Anerley and the 15-year-old Jay Hughes from Bellingham.
