Kent Police are appealing for information after a motorcyclist sustained serious injuries when he crashed his bike in Dartford.

The rider, a man in his 40s, came off his black Triumph motorcycle in Watling Street, close to the junction with The Brent, and hit a parked vehicle at around 10.10pm on New Year's Day.

The man, who is local to the area, was travelling through Dartford when the incident took place.

Kent Police said he was taken to a London hospital for treatment where he remains in a critical condition.

No other vehicles are believed to have been involved.

Officers from the serious collision investigation unit are making enquiries to establish how the motorcyclist came off his bike and are appealing for anyone with information to get in contact.

CCTV has been collected from homes in the area.

Anyone with dash cam footage which captures the incident, or the moments leading up to it, is asked to make contact with officers.
