Bexley police responded to 16 reports of burglaries and attempted burglaries across the borough over the past week.

According to officers in the latest Bexley Borough Neighbourhood Watch Update, a number of wards were targeted by thieves looking to break into gift-filled homes over the festive period.

Also, neighbourhood watch officers are warning residents there has been an increasing number of CCTV doorbells being stolen from front doors across the wards.

These are often used to deter burglars and it is noted that the higher-end models of these doorbells can be worth up to £100.
