We don't want to wish the Christmas period away but if you are already bored of the decorations, then we are here to help.

Most London councils offer either collection of the tree or some kind of recycling facility, because year after year trees are dumped at the sides of the road and not properly disposed of.

So here is how you can get rid of yours...

Bexley

Bexley council will only be collecting Christmas tress from houses that are part of the garden waste service. You are advised to cut your tree in half and leave it next to your garden waste bin on collection day.

Garden waste collections will be suspended week commencing 24 December for two weeks - resuming again on Monday 7 January.

Bromley

Bromley council provides a free Christmas tree recycling service for all our residents at temporary sites around the borough.

Temporary recycling centres for Christmas trees and green garden waste are open on either Saturday 5 January or Sunday 6 January 2019:

January 5 between 11am and 4pm

Bromley, Norman Park (Hook Farm Road entrance off Bromley Common, A21)

Green Street Green, Salt Depot (Shire Lane 'spur', off Sevenoaks Road)

St Paul's Cray, Cotmandene Crescent car park (off Chipperfield Road)

January 6 between 8am and 12pm

Beckenham, Unicorn Primary School (Creswell Drive off South Eden Park Road)

Biggin Hill, Charles Darwin School (Jail Lane)

Greenwich

Greenwich council will recycle your tree as part of your weekly collection. The tree must not be in a pot or decorated. You must leave the tree beside your garden waste bin.

Lewisham
