A Couldson housebuilder has helped a winter clothes drive for the homeless.

The Wrap Up London campaign aims to provide coats to as many vulnerable people as possible, to help them get through the coldest period of the year.

David Wilson Homes offered its Cane Hill Park development as one of the campaign's designated collection sites, where members of the public donated their old or unused coats the charity.

The car-full of coats was then driven to the Wrap Up London drop off centre in Chiswick, where they will be collected and distributed by volunteers.

Natalie Perry, Sales and Marketing Director for David Wilson Homes, said: “We are proud to support Wrap Up London at Cane Hill Park this Winter.

"Our thanks go to everyone who was able to make a donation and play their part to help keep vulnerable people warm this winter.”

With over 100 charities connected to the scheme, each coat will enables the new wearer to stay warm over the course of the winter and build a lasting relationship with the charities that distribute them.

The recipients are members of a range of vulnerable groups in society; the homeless, refugees, impoverished children and people fleeing domestic violence.

Jon Meech, Chief Executive Officer for Hands On London, who organised many of the volunteers, said: “It’s great to see David Wilson Homes supporting the Wrap Up London campaign. Wrap Up London relies totally on the goodwill of local people so extending the opportunity to donate a coat in Coulsdon has been wonderful.

"Thanks to the generosity of local residents, many more vulnerable people will be kept warm this Christmas.”
