Hundreds of people took to the streets of Orpington for the town's second Santa dash.

Families, including the odd pet, painted the town red for the 2km fun run on Sunday (December 9).

Chris Travers, business improvement district manager for Orpington 1st, said: "A big thank you to all the runners and their supporters for being part of a great day.

"It’s particularly pleasing to see so many Santas and their families using the high street before and after the dash.

"We’d also like to thank the Bromley Fire Cadets for helping us make sure the event ran smoothly."

The Santa dash started in Priory Gardens, before going across the high street and finishing in Market Square where runners received a souvenir medal.

Manager of the Mytime Active Walnuts Leisure Centre, Paul Robson, said: "We’re delighted to have partnered Orpington 1st in bringing this celebration of fun, fitness and festive spirit to Orpington town centre.

"We’ve had a huge increase in the number of Santas registering to take part this year and we look forward to seeing the event continue to grow."
