Firefighters have been working through the night to control a blaze at a four-storey building in Dartford High Street.

Six fire engines, along with a height vehicle were, called to the scene shortly after 8:30pm to tackle the fire. However, due to valiant efforts by Kent Fire & Rescue this has been scaled down to one engine.

Fire crews remain on the scene and are checking for any remaining hotspots.

Although the exact location of the fire has not been confirmed yet, it is understood that a solicitors office above the NatWest on the High Street is the source of the blaze.

Kent Fire & Rescue have reported that there are no casualties and the cause of the fire is still unknown.

They also said that the road remains closed while emergency services continue to fight the fire.

There is restricted access outside the NatWest building on the High Street however the rest of the road is still open with police maintaining a cordon.
