Firefighters were called to a Thamesmead care home yesterday afternoon to a blaze caused by a fish tank.
25 firefighters were called to Central Way at 2pm on December 9.
Part of a three-roomed flat on the second floor was damaged by the fire and crews had to evacuate around 20 residents and 10 staff as a precaution.
Officers believe that the fire was accidental and started in a filtration system in a fish tank.
Fire crews from Plumstead, Erith and East Greenwich fire stations attended the scene.
