Just because something looks pretty doesn’t mean it can’t be dangerous.
This can be true most true when it comes to Christmas decorations, especially lights on our lovely festive trees.
When you cover a tree in electricity then of course there is a big risk that they could be faulty and overheat.
London Fire Brigade recently released a terrifying video showing just how quickly a Christmas tree can go up in flames and the devastation it can cause.
Officers are now urging you to check your Christmas lights are in good condition and to turn them off before you go to bed (common sense really).
Keeping your tree well watered could also prevent a fire from taking hold.
And PLEASE make sure you have working smoke alarms.
Intense heat and tinsel are a lethal mix that could ruin more than just Christmas so make sure if you are lighting any candles they are safely contained.
Have a look at the video to see the speed at which a Christmas tree can be destroyed and a room set on fire due to a broken light.
