A person has died after being hit by a train at Welling railway station.
British Transport Police were called to the station at 11.30am this morning after someone was struck by a train.
A spokesman said: "Paramedics also attended and sadly a person has been pronounced dead at the scene.
"Officers are currently working to identify them and establish the circumstances behind their death.
"A file will be prepared for the coroner."
Welling police say the station remains shut and they have advised people to avoid the area.
Southeastern say no trains are running on the Bexleyheath line.
Commuters are urged to use their tickets on London buses, the DLR services and the underground rather than trying to catch a train.
