Fewer branded Mini Coopers will be spotted in Beckenham from now on after the closure of Foxtons on the high street.

The estate agency's cost-cutting measures have also led to the loss of five other London branches in Park Lane, Enfield, Loughton, Ruislip and Barnes after a struggle to sell homes.

Chief executive Nic Budden said the company was operating in a "challenging market".

He added: "We are managing the business for the current market conditions and remain confident in our long-term prospects."

Foxtons was founded in Notting Hill Gate in 1981 and opened its Beckenham office in 2014.

The firm's sales revenue in the third quarter declined to £9.9 million from £10.3 million.

No further closures are planned and Foxtons will continue to work from 61 branches covering 85 per cent of London.
