Police investigating reports of a man who checked himself into a Sidcup hospital with a knife injury have said they are "not treating this as suspicious."
Officers were called to Queen Mary's Hospital at 4.20pm on Thursday (November 8) after it was reported a man, believed to be in his 30s, presented himself to the hospital.
A spokeswoman for the Met Police has now said: "Officers have established how and where the incident occurred and are not treating this as suspicious at this time."
They also said that the man's injuries are "not life-threatening."
Reports of the incident first emerged on social media yesterday evening shortly before 5pm.
One social media user reported seeing police cars and London Air Ambulance on the scene at approximately 4.30pm.
A spokeswoman from London Air Ambulance said: "Our advanced trauma team was dispatched via aircraft by London Ambulance Service at 16:09 yesterday to reports of a stabbing in the Frognal Avenue area. After treatment on scene the patient was transferred by road to a major trauma hospital accompanied by London’s Air Ambulance.”
