A 41-year-old motorcyclist has died after a crash with a suspected drug driver in Eltham.

Officers from the Roads and Transport Police Command are now investigating after the fatal crash on Sidcup road on October 9.

Police were called to reports of a crash between a car and a motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, a 41-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries and remained in critical condition.

However on Friday (October 19) he was pronounced dead at Kings College Hospital in central London.

Formal identification awaits and a post mortem examination will take place in due course.

The driver, a 34 year-old man, stopped at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and driving without due care and attention.

He has since been released under investigation.

A petition has been started by Greenwich resident Carole Axford to make Fiveways and Sidcup Road safer.

It is a personal petition for Carole as she worked with the man that unfortunately died in this crash.
