A thief who robbed former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan for his £100,000 watch at gunpoint in Croydon has been jailed. 

Adam Yaro, 32, of Catford Hill, stole Rolex watches, pearls, diamonds, gold and silver jewellery, computer tablets and mobile phones, cameras and a car, from residents in Kent and south London according to the Met Police.

In March this year, Jordan was robbed of his watch when Yaro pulled up beside his Maserati, threatening him at gunpoint on London Road. 

Yaro was convicted on 15 counts, including the mugging. 

Appearing at Woolwich Crown Court last Monday (October 15), he pleaded guilty to burglaries, theft of motor vehicle, driving disqualified, thefts, robbery, possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of cannabis.

He was arrested by officers from Croydon Crime Squad at Catford Hill on Wednesday, May 2 and was remanded in custody to appear at Woolwich Crown Court.

He is remanded in custody to appear for sentencing on Friday, October 26 at Woolwich Crown Court
