A Bexley police officer who allegedly twice choked a man during a fight has been given his final written warning.
PC Philip Dean, allegedly choked the man unconscious during the incidents on July 2 and July 3, 2016.
He is accused of not informing the custody officer of these actions once the suspect was arrested.
A public misconduct case hearing was held where he answered allegations that his actions were in breach of professional behaviour in regards to use of force, duties and responsibilities and honesty and integrity.
The duties and responsibilities allegation was proven at gross misconduct. The matters of use of force and honesty and integrity were not proven.
