A 28-year-old man arrested after the botched burglary of a home in Hither Green has been released without further action.
Pensioner Richard Osborn-Brooks, 78, fatally stabbed intruder Henry Vincent in the chest on April 4 after his home was broken into.
Two weeks later police arrested a 28-year-old man on suspicion of burglary after the home in South Park Crescent was targeted.
This came after police released images of Henry Vincent's suspected accomplice, who they previously named Billy Jeeves.
A burnt-out car was found in Star Lane in Orpington after the burglary.
However, police now say there is insufficient evidence to charge the 28-year-old.
A statement read: "Following an extensive investigation – including forensic examination of the scene – there was insufficient evidence to support a charge of burglary."
