A street artist from Brockley has unveiled his latest murals in south-east London.
Lionel Stanhope was approached by resident Gill Quilty about brightening up a railway bridge at Shortlands station.
Gill was aware of Lionel's other street art and she also contacted Bromley councillors Will Harmer, Nicola Dykes and Michael Rutherford to make it happen.
Great things happen when we work together. Residents will notice this stunning new mural in Shortlands. We worked with a fantastic local resident (who noticed a mural elsewhere), @networkrail, @LBofBromley and the artist @lionel_stanhope to deliver this piece of art. Councillor Nicola Dykes told News Shopper: “Network Rail paid for the work and the wall needed a deep clean so we got the council on board to make it happen.
“We are really pleased with it and think it makes a positive impact on Shortlands.
“I love it and it is even better than I thought it would look. It really brings something to the area.”
Lionel also painted a mural at Plumstead railway station, which he shared on his social media today.
