Southeastern has released a list of the stations most likely to be affected by 'leaf fall' this Autumn.
‘Leaves on the line’ is an announcement that is as ridiculous as it is unbelievable, but this is an actual issue that is being tackled head on.
This winter Southeastern are clearing hundreds of miles of trackside vegetation as well as running special leaf-busting trains throughout autumn that clean the rails using water jets and apply a sand-based gel to help trains grip the rails.
They will also be putting an amended timetable in place at some stations on days when the weather is forecast to be at its worst.
Southeastern have released a list of services that may be reduced this winter due to the falling ‘leafage’.
The services that are likely to be affected are:
Belvedere
Erith
Plumstead
Woolwich Dockyard
Westcombe Park
Maze Hill
Deptford
Falconwood
Kidbrooke
Welling
Albany Park
Bexley
Lee
Mottingham
This isn't great news for anyone after the shambles of a service Thameslink has recently been putting on, and with another new timetable coming into fruition this could spell doom.
