Police have appealed to the public for help as a 39-year-old man remains in critical condition following a double stabbing in Greenwich last night.

Police were called to Hevelius Close, SE10 at around 6.10pm on Monday, 17 September, following reports of a stabbing.

Met Police, the London Ambulance Service, and London's Air Ambulance attended, where two men were subsequently found suffering from stab wounds.

A 39-year-old male remains in hospital in a critical condition, the 31-year-old male’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Met Police said enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances behind the incident, but said the motive behind the incident is unknown.

Officers are appealing for anyone that witnessed the incident, or who has images or video to come forward.

Detective Constable Terry Mulcahy, of Greenwich CID, said: "This was a horrendous incident, the motive for which is unknown at this time.

“Anyone with information in relation to this incident is encouraged to come forward as a matter of urgency."

There have been no arrests.
