Traffic is piling up on the approach
A man has been seriously injured after a crash caused a standstill on the Dartford Crossing.
The crash, which happened at about 2.30pm, closed all four lanes of clockwise traffic while emergency services attended.
While one lane of traffic has now been released, congestion is still trailing back as the other three lanes remain closed.
Essex Police are still at the scene.
According to Highways England, delays of one hour should be expected for drivers at the crossing.
Essex Police has thanked drivers caught up on the crossing for their patience.
