Another warning has been issued to Asian families in Bexley after gold was targeted in "a linked series of burglaries".

Police from the East Wickham policing ward wrote a post on Facebook to warn households in Welling of the risk.

According to police, suspects are getting into houses from the back entrances and carrying out "untidy searches".

They added: "Families that hold significant amounts of Asian gold are being specifically targeted."

Officers have alerted people to be aware of three white men aged between 17 and 25 in connection with the burglaries.

In some of the incidents, men who fit this description have been seen driving a blue BMW M3 or a black Audi.

After this spate of burglaries, police have asked residents in the area to take extra measures to keep their belongings safe:

- Take photos of your jewellery and keep a log of what you have

- Keep any extensive collections of jewellery in a safety box

- If you notice anyone acting suspiciously, call police on 999. Do not report this on Facebook or Twitter.

Teams will be monitoring the area on high-visibility controls over the next week to speak to residents and reassure them.
